Expiration Date

It's a posting frenzy!! It's cool cuz since Alice and I are both making projects, you guys have more stuff to watch. ^^

This is my second project for 120B Intermediate Production and my first without Alice as my director of photography (scary!). Our prompt was: in a future world where its impossible to discern whether you're a human or android, how would you figure out what you are? Big thanks to the dorm friends for use of them, locations and patience. ^^

  • On a non-Cohorts related note, UCI recently had their 2nd Annual Mad Dash Film Festival where teams of 1-5 make a short in 24 hours. I did it with a few friends of mine from production and screenwriting and though we only placed in top 25 with no prizes, I actually quite liked our short. You can view it here.

P.S. Sound sync problem has been resolved due to smart thinking on Alice's part.
P.P.S. I'll stop begging for comments because Alice and I have to start basing our self worth on things other than comments on this page, right Alice? ;)

hey! i really liked how it turned out. i especially like the idea behind it. although this is coming from someone who knows next to nothing about filming. i have to agree with billy tho, "alone" is my favorite as well. definitely eerie. i'll be watching for the next short!

i went through all the movies today. they were interesting to say the least. i like the ample fight club references.

expiration date - i like how he expires on valentines day. must be some personal vendetta against valentines

mad dash film - how come the guys have to get beat up? and i thought the prompt mentioned a shot of the comptuerstore, which i didnt see. perhaps the room with the boxes was in the computerstore.

    pee-sat - was funny. i liked it.

alone - it was a great conceptual idea. the execution of the walking boots/stillettos seemed unnatural and forced, though it was a interesting representation of fear. overall it was enjoyable

a message - i like the revolving shot of evita and her computer (i think its this short)

my popcorn - one word. boring

writers block - the eminem part seemed a bit long, could have cut it shorter

sync or swim - the dance was enjoyable and quite funny, felt a bit like zoolander but for lip syncing.

overall they were enjoyable, looking forward to future releases. hope i wasnt too harsh or critical on my comments. keep up the good work.

Okay, time for me to comment...

THE BEST SHORT/CONCEPT goes to Pee-SAT. Funny title, to the point. Pee looked real. I woudl say that is the best on here mainly because it gets to the point, doesnt take itself too seriously and people can relate to it. That's what a short needs to be.

Fight Clubbin. Man since i was apart of it, i can't help but be biased but that was high-larious as well. If it wasn't done in 24 hours i think it could have been alot better. For Mr. anon over there, the prompt was NOT need to show computerstore, but a reference was fine. and i know this for the sure.

    Alone was alright...sorry evita.

    Sincerely,
